About Us!

This is us

"Le Ciel" is a French word, meaning "The Sky".

We are dreamers and lovers of new chances and new beginnings and this is how the name came about. Blue skies remind us of the change and force of a "fresh start".

The whole shop idea started as a joke 10 years ago. Ten years ago not knowing which products were suitable, which direction makes sense to, understanding and figuring out what represents us, what we stand for, and what is important to us.

This has been in the making for years now, parts of it only in our heads BUT the past year has given us the right push and encouragement we needed.

We would love to take you on this ride.

Craftsmanship

 

 

The heart of our business is making everything on our own, with our bare hands. We believe that there is nothing more rewarding and reassuring than handing products to people made 100% by YOU, products you know the "ins and ends" about, because YOU made them, loved them, and went through all the steps with them. 

 

 

From forming and designing our ceramics (coming soon) to drying them, bringing them to their first "bisque firing", coloring and glazing them, to "firing" them again, and finally to stoneware. There is no better feeling than that.

We cherish all our final results, love all their imperfections, their uniqueness, and care for them until they get to your home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Our Responsibilities

Have you ever heard the saying: "You are what you eat."?
We all probably have a million times, the phrase indirectly tells you, to be aware of the food you nourish your body with. It's important to know the ingredients, because it is crucial for your overall well-being.

The same goes for our products! We know where all the "ingredients" we buy for the production of our products come from and do our very best to shop locally ourselves and if that is not possible, we do our best to source everything around us. We appreciate all the different textures of all the materials we use for our production.
Furthermore, we choose to be mindful of the environment, favor natural and sustainably-sourced materials, and will always be transparent about our products.

We can all do better, be good, be nicer to our planet, buy less, buy better, and responsibly.

To do everything mentioned, we choose to produce only small amounts to avoid "waste" or "overproduction", whilst also giving everyone the option to "custom order" the amount they need.

Community

We believe in finding happiness for ourselves and making others happy. It doesn't matter how you do it, how you get there, as long as you do. Happiness can't be bought with materialistic things, those don't fulfill us most of the time - but we believe that a little touchable gesture can brighten our day.

Our community is a bright ray of sun, full of hope, dreams, aspiration, and loves minimalistic objects and also fun colors and designs. We support small businesses and believe in shopping locally.

Packaging 

 

Our packaging is made from recyclable or biodegradable materials. Now and then you might even catch us use old newspaper and reuse boxes - why produce more waste if there is another way?

We encourage you to also reuse or repurpose the packaging that you receive from us.

 

 

 

 

 All our new boxes are from an Austrian company since it is very important to us to help out businesses around us, minimize huge transportations which = minimal waste.

We are by no means a "zero waste" small business, we just love to do our part.

If you see us use bubble wrap in some orders, please note, that we haven't yet found a more eco-friendly way to pack more fragile products. Feel free to write us any suggestions or recommendations.
